MADE IN AMERICA DOES IT REALLY MATTER?

**Made in America**
Why is it important for something to be made in the U.S.A?
Many candle companies opt to produce their products overseas to cut costs. We are not those blue and white checkered candle people. Outsourcing leads to fewer job opportunities for Americans and an increased risk of human carcinogens and unregulated ingredients being used. We call this silent bio-terrorism.
Unfortunately, some larger candle brands save money by outsourcing and using cheaper materials, with costs ranging from 10 cents per candle while charging you $23.99 for a three-wick candle. Some scented candles may claim to have a soy base; however, they are often mixed with paraffin, which is why they are labeled as a soy blend. The use of petroleum-based waxes like paraffin emits harmful chemicals like benzene and toluene when burned—substances linked to serious health concerns like endocrine disruption and cancer.
“Scientists suggest switching to candles made from 100% soy or beeswax, which produce no levels of harmful chemicals.” – The Independent
When it comes to scents, regulations vary significantly from one country to another. In the U.S., we have guidelines that help ensure the safety of the chemicals used in scents, but that is not the case globally. Depending on where your candle is made, it could contain a variety of unregulated and toxic chemicals that you don’t want to be inhaling. Inexpensive candles often have added phthalates and other substances that are known to be human carcinogens.
So, what’s in our American-made candles?
We only use soy wax sourced from 100% American-grown soybeans, ensuring our wax is entirely pure without any other waxes mixed in. If you’re unsure whether a candle is made with 100% soy wax, check the texture!
Choosing safe scents can be tricky, even here in the U.S. But we only source all of our essential oils and scents from American companies that craft their essential oils and scents locally. Our candles are free of phthalates, carcinogens, Prop 65 compliant, and meet the strict safety and purity guidelines established by RIFM and IFRA.
